Pérez Abad firmó acuerdo con representantes de industrias del calzado en el país

El vicepresidente para el Área Económica, Miguel Pérez Abad, firmó este jueves un acuerdo con representantes de las industrias del calzado en el país para aprovechar la producción nacional del cuero crudo, que según explicó el funcionario, era sacado del país de forma ilícita.

Abad reveló que, en la actualidad, el sector calzado está en capacidad de producir 94 millones de pares de zapatos, generando 80 mil empleos directos y 280 mil empleos indirectos, lo que cubre el 85% de la demanda interna del producto.

Además, el Vicepresidente destacó que las industrias del ramo generan el 3% del Producto Interno Bruto (PIB) del país, por lo que la firma del acuerdo permitirá ahorrar una importante cantidad de divisas.

El acuerdo suscrito con las 198 empresas del calzado y las 326 industrias de conglomerados está enmarcado en el Cuaderno de la Patria, presentado anteriormente por el presidente de la República, Nicolás Maduro, y que plantea el objetivo de incrementar la producción de 66 millones de pares de zapatos a 102 millones.

Asimismo, se prevé que las empresas reduzcan los costos de 5,75 bolívares por dólar a Bs. 5,45 por USD durante el 2016.
